I went down to New Orleans to see a good friend of mine get married last week. Apparently its tradition at these things to get blasted and wear masquerade gear.
The band at the wedding was playing mostly Motown and blues type stuff, but you didn’t come here to hear that. Here’s beats from zomby instead. zombies are big in New Orleans, aren’t they?
A few years ago, Jens gave me a CD that had a folder on it with over 1000 old-school NASA photos. He says he has no idea where he got them, but that doesn’t matter: all the photos are amazing.
I uploaded them to Flickr here, and while you’re looking at them here’s some music to get you into the orbital mood:
I’ve always thought that songs about phones and texting were hilarious, and that’s why I loved Scotty Dynamo’s remix of the Gaga and Beyonce hit telephone before I’d even heard the original. Here’s some other phone-related musical mayhem to go along with it:
Lady Gaga - Telephone (Loose Cannons Funk Redial)
Lady Gaga - Telephone (Crookers Remix) (Props to The World Forgot for that)
Dragonette - Pick Up The Phone (Michael Van She Remix) (via the always-hot Trash Menagerie)
Ludacris - Sexting (via Dank Ideas)
You can download a bunch of Scotty D’s other tracks at ScottyDynamo.com, and he’s ScottyDynamo on Twitter, too.
For another classic telephone track, check out The Firm’s Phone Tap. Its aged surprisingly well. And since we’re on such a tele-kick here, also check out how The Mentalists cover MGMT’s Kids on iPhones.
And of course, the video for Telephone is unreal.

Looking at pictures of future cities is always a good time, and when you’ve got electronic soundtrack its even better.
These are some tracks that have landed in my inbox, and while they don’t have as heavy of a beat as some of the stuff I’ve been listening to lately they’re still pretty good. I’ve written about Dr. Hollywood before, and I think they’ll probably have some great stuff coming up.
This week marks the first time I’ve heard of Belfast Synth pop duo Uber Glitterati, and I think they’ll stay on my iPod for a little while. I think it’ll make for great music to walk around the city with, something a little lighter than what I usually listen to. You can find some other tracks by them on Soundcloud.
