Dracula’s Moon Base

I don’t know what is more awesome about that panel - the fact that Dracula has a castle on the moon, or that he also appears to be in fairly regular contact with Dr. Doom.

The panel is from an issue of Captain Britain where the two super villains team up to take over Britain. I’m sure good eventually triumphs, but Victor and Vlad make for a pretty dangerous combo.

You know what kind of music goes with Vampiric Moon Castles? Fake Blood. And it’s even better mixed with sugary female electro vocals.

That’s why I love these track that Its Overture and Brand X dropped me last week.

Its Overture - 100% Fake Blood ((Crystal Waters (Risk One Remix) vs. Little Boots (Fake Blood Remix))

Brand X - Banging On Mars (Fake Blood versus Rye Rye)

Golden Fox

Every thing that the The Golden Filter touches is, well, solid gold. They seem to be pretty mysterious, shying away from sharing much about themselves. As they said in an interview on KillahBeez, “The origins of the golden filter lie somewhere in the cosmic seas of darkness and desperation… and the way in which the tides rise above that.”

The Golden Filter - Solid Gold

The Golden Filter - Solid Gold (Clouded Vision Remix)

The Golden Filter - Hide Me

The Golden Filter - Favorite Things

Little Boots - New In Town (The Golden Filter Remix)

Polly Scattergood - Please Don’t Touch (The Golden Filter dub)

I previously blogged the beautiful music that is The Golden Filter’s Empire of the Sun remix, and I’ve also professed my love for Little Boots before.

You can try catching The Golden Filter Myspace, Tumblr, Facebook and even their own website.

Too Much (fake) Blood

One of the reasons I started this blog in the first place was because I thought that Nineteen Ninety Never would be a kick-ass name for a line of t-shirts. I designed and actually made some of them, including the one above. It was a huge stencil, and I regret the fact that I had to abandon it in Australia.

To go with the theme and because they’re coming to Toronto this weekend, here are some absolutely deadly Fake Blood tracks:

Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix) (props to this guy for the track)

(I’m just absolutely loving Little Boots these days, and my favorite part of the song is when she says “Fake Blood” at 1:44)

Count and Sinden - Beeper (Fake Blood mix)

The Kills - Cheap and Cheerful (Fake Blood mix)

Buy Little Boots  stuff on iTunes then hit her up on Twitter.

Fake Blood on Myspace (no, not THAT Fake Blood), more Fake Blood on 199X

The Kills on MySpace, iTunes and here.

More Love For Little Boots

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

After reading an interview that Sirhan (Trash Menagerie) did with Little Boots I’m pretty sure that I have a crush on her, too.

6 Reasons why you should also crush on her:

1.) She says she likes her favorite clothing label (Felder Felder) because it is “very futuristic”

2.) The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds is one of her favorite albums

3.) She took her name from the film/emperor Caligula (I’ve got a lot of respect for the Romans)

4.) She makes the Tenori-on sound amazing

5. )Little Boots - Love Kills

6. )Little Boots - Meddle (Baron Von Luxxury Technicolor Remix)

You know what is messed up? If her Myspace page is anything to go by, she’s really into horses. Emperor Caligula was also into horses, and went as far as trying to make his horse into a priest and a consul (rumor has it he also turned the palace into a brothel).

Anyways, Little Boots reminds me of Goldfrapp who, it appears, is also into horses.
